I am an MA student in the Classics Department at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and a research assistant at ATOLMY. My primary research focus lies in the realm of the respiratory system in ancient thought, with a particular emphasis on breath control (katalep̄sis pneumatos) and its application in training for athletes, orators, singers, and wind-players. My research predominantly draws from Galen’s extensive body of work. Outside of my academic pursuits, I am a wind-player specializing in renaissance and baroque recorders. Therefore, this research topic is close to my heart (no pun intended). I am captivated by the opportunities that ATLOMY offers in utilizing digital tools to visualize and have better understanding of Galen's anatomical and physiological theories.
