My interest in the History of medicine stems from my career as a medical doctor, and my studies in the Classics: I trained and currently work as a consultant anaesthetist in Barcelona, and have completed a PhD. in Classics at the University of Cambridge. My research explores Greco-Roman medicine, particularly its intersection with other disciplines, such as philosophy, law and contemporary medical practice. I am highly interested in how ancient science encourages an estranged look at our current theoretical views, and, simultaneously, how present-day clinical practice enables a deeper understanding of ancient texts. As part of the Atlomy project, I aim to focus on Galenic anatomy and to participate in the re-enactment of ancient anatomical dissections.
